Lupus is an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system becomes hyperactive and attacks normal, healthy tissue. This results in symptoms such as inflammation, swelling, and damage to joints, skin, kidneys, blood, the heart, and lungs and can lead to death if not treated effectively.

THIS PAST: (Monday) and Tuesday at at Sodee. We had a fitting and a casting to see who else would walk with Jade Cole.
We have the below 6 female models for the show. In addition to the fitting for these models we had auditions with about 40 girls to pick the other 4 girls and alternates.

If your getting this email your pretty awesome at what you do. The BEASTS at this event are also pretty awesome at what they do. In fact they beat out 500,000 ppl competing against them to make it in their professional league. This night is during a small window where 3 of the major sports teams are not in season and the sports media is thirsting for good material to write about especially great stories about how a city is coming together to raise $ for an awesome cause! This is a wonderful event with some amazing ppl which will bring a combination of press (sports and special features) which is really really unique for Boston. NY, LA, Miami, Europe combine sports and fashion all the time (Europe incorporates soccer which i will concede may or may not be a sport).

THURSDAY JULY 12TH:

Julie Ofcharsky bad Girls Club (who is lending her local celebrity and signing 3 songs and bringing a ton of ppl friday)
We will be on the 94.5 morning show (taped today and played Friday morning) telling the community about the wonderful Beauty and the Beast Show Friday to Raise money for Lupus at Umbria but lets take a step back for a second and see the forest through the tree’s.
Let’s Put some real ppl into this equation and real talk of why we as a team have come together for this cause.
-Markell Carter shared with me that lupus is the second leading killer of black women in the United States. The spark of this whole Beauty and the Beast movement is a real person; Markell’s sister who is afflicted with it.
-Currently There is No Boston Lupus Chapter (Mannix can correct me on this too)
-Have you noticed the gentleman Mannix Barnes CC’d on the top of every email? He is the Oklahoma Chapter head and he is driving 24 hrs to come up here for this event.

-Many of the Models, some of the designers have shared their own stories on how this disease has affected their loved ones.
-If i’m correct, Mannix, can correct me. i think the Lupus of America is also having a meeting in Boston this weekend which is a little amazing of a coincidence that this might be a part of some bigger plan from the man up stairs.
-An entire city, which has completely ignored this affliction in the past, has its eyes on all of us, the show, the designers, hair and make up, and models; excited for Friday! This could be that right moment in time when this issue gets some real focus, maybe even a chapter in this area, from the energies of real ppl like the ppl getting this email but at the end of the day attention by it self does not fund research programs, build hospitals and clinics or pay for medicines so that’s why it sooo import for us all to really pay attention for this next section!

100 percent of the proceeds from Fridays Fashion Show is going To the Oklahoma Chapter (which will show the national lupus folks that Boston is capable of having it’s own chapter).
What Markel, Mannix, Ron, Jade, and Paris want you to do today is start the fund raising process!
They only need you to do 3 things (my promoting team needs to do about 50 things each but that’s a separate email to them!)!
You do these 3 things and you can look in the mirror and say “I”m one awesome Fund Raiser Diva!”
HERE ARE THE 3 THINGS WE NEED EVERYONE TO DO.

5. 94.5 morning show sending ppl to cover it for Monday show too
6. The new 103.3 is passing 5000 flyer’s all over Boston Friday and will be covering Friday night
