Leona Lewis has revealed Rihanna’s number one song ‘We Found Love’ was her song first.
The former ‘X Factor’ winner told the Daily Star: “It was the same version and production but mine’s better.”
The track, written and produced by Calvin Harris, became the longest running number one single of 2011 in America and topped the charts in 25 countries including the UK. Worldwide, the single has sold 6.3 million copies – making it one of best-selling singles of all time.
The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer, who has just released her third album ‘Glassheart’, said: “It was a bit annoying to see how big a hit it was around the world but if I’d released it maybe it wouldn’t have done as well.”
Meanwhile, Lewis has revealed that she’d like to be an ‘X Factor’ judge.
In an interview with BBC News, she said: “I really enjoyed the stint that I had on it coming in and guest judging. At first I didn’t think I would, but I did enjoy it in the end.
“In the future doing something permanent would be quite fun. At the end I kind of got into my stride a bit. I think it would be fun to do it.”
And there may be space to accommodate her on the panel too, as Gary Barlow seems unhappy with the current series.
Are you glad Rihanna released the track instead?
